Landscape shots in San Francisco

I rented a 16-35 mm f/2.8 from Calumet SF on Saturday afternoon. They actually will count a day rent for a lens that is picked up after 3pm on Friday and returned on Monday. In my case, the $1400 lens only cost $28 for a rental fee. I was so happy with the lens. I didn't have to use a timer setting to take picture to avoid camera shake on tripod which I have to with the lens I own.

For that reason, I've just got a remote for my XTi today. I ordered it from Amazon.com. It costs $24.79 and eligible for free shipping if I can add up my total to $25 or over. I used this site http://www.filleritem.com/index.html to help me filling up my cart. I found a 5-star $1 book to complete my purchase.

Here are some photos I took with the 16-35 mm f/2.8:

Photograpy Books

Here are some books I borrowed from the library:
National Geographic photography field guide : secrets to making great pictures / Peter Burian and
Cameras and lenses : choosing equipment to suit the task / Michael Freeman.
Using your camera / George Schaub.

I loved the first one, it summed up and added more photography knowledge for me. At some part of the book, there were some highly talented National Geographic photographers sharing their fantastic photos and tips for anybody who'd like to seriously taking up photography.

The other two books made great companion to the National Geographic book. I had a great time reading them.

My new Canon prime lens and Speedlite are coming!

I'm so excited! I finally bought a prime lens I've been wanting to buy for a long time! I made use of Canon's instant's rebate. I think it's still going on, here is: the link.
If you're wondering what online stores that are Canon authorized dealer, here is the list of Canon
USA authorized dealer I found online: link.

I also found the replacement of my speedlite that has been reached its life time more than a couple years ago. It was so useful to take pictures of my always on the move son when he was younger (under 2 yrs old). I bought a preowned one at B&H with 9/10 condition.

I also added a hood for my other lens, Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM and some Cokin filters for my P holder as well as Cokin lens cap.
